Become an ambassador,
Help Protect LGBTQ Youth
Help protect Kentucky youth from conversion therapy by becoming a BCTK Ambassador! We are looking for passionate, outgoing individuals that care about building community and protecting LGBTQ youth from conversion therapy. BCTK Ambassadors will help us raise awareness on conversion therapy while advocating for legislation to protect youth from these dangerous practices. These positions are remote; therefore, ambassadors can live anywhere in the state of Kentucky. BCTK ambassadors commit to volunteering one to two hours a week consistently through the end of the 2021 Legislative session in mid-May.
Ambassador Requirements
BCTK has five ambassador teams divided by region; Greater Louisville, Lexington/Central Kentucky, East Kentucky, Northern Kentucky, and Western Kentucky. Ambassador teams will be led by a regional organizer, who will work with their ambassador team to generate projects that will foster community involvement, and encourage legislators to support BCTK legislation. To ensure safety for all, these projects may be conducted remotely or within local COVID-19 safety guidelines at the discretion of ambassadors and their organizer.
Here are some examples of past ambassador projects:
- Planning educational events
- Meeting with legislators
- Tabling for petition signatures
- Writing Op-Eds to your local Newspaper
- Creating Social Media Fundraisers
- Mobilizing constituents to contact legislators
